Indo-Global Social Service Society (IGSSS) is a non-profit organization working with the mandate for the humane social order based on truth, justice, freedom and equity. Established in 1960, IGSSS works for development, capacity building and enlightenment of the vulnerable communities across the country for their effective participation in development.
IGSSS has been implementing a project named Su-Poshan in Kalahandi and Koraput district of Odisha from December 2020 onwards with following key objectives
- The nutritional situation has improved, particularly for women and children under the age of five. The range of available food has increased
- Incomes of smallholder farmers and landless families have increased through the adoption of diversified and innovative livelihood options
- Communities are able to manage their natural resources sustainably
- CBOs function as self-sufficient, sustainable, and democratic spaces for local political participation in matters of rural livelihood and development. They stand up for the rights of the community members
The project has key components on increasing nutritional status among the women and children, increase in income of families through farm, non-farm and enterprise development, natural resource management through CCA and DRR measures and strengthening of CBOs to functions as self-sustainable and democratic way.
IGSSS invites Expressions of Interest from the experts for developing PLA training manual. The Manual will cover not only infant and childcare and healthy nutrition, but also agriculture, natural resource management and WASH. The manual will be adopted to the specific needs and requirements of extension workers published with illustrations in Odia language.

Eligibility:
The consultant should have;
- Experience on facilitating training and developing manual on PLA- LANN
- Experience on developing training manual on locally and illustrative language using Odia language
- Experience on facilitating training to grassroot workers on PLA and LANN (Participatory Learning and Action) and Linking Agriculture to Nutrition and Natural Resource Management)
- Excellent drafting skills
- 8 to 10 year of experience in relevant field
Objective of the Manual:
- To prepare PLA module focusing not only infant and childcare and healthy nutrition, but also agriculture, natural resource management and WASH.
- The manual should be like a handy tool for the field facilitators and community volunteers to guide in conducting PLA meeting in villages and facilitating PLA training to the grassroot workers
Deliverables:
Consultant will develop a PLA training manual in locally illustrative Odia language and submit the ready to print copy to IGSSS office on or before 28th February 2021

Steps & Timeline:

Opening and screening of EoI :
- Submission of EoI does not guarantee that the EoI will be accepted.
- IGSSS will inform the shortlisted consultants
- Personal canvassing is strictly prohibited.
Signing of ToR:
After the verification of CV, budget and application IGSSS and the selected consultant will enter into agreement as per the existing norms, rules and regulation of IGSSS.
Terms of Payment
Fees will be paid in two instalments:
- 1st installment i.e. 25% of the fees will be released immediately upon signing of the TOR
- 2nd Installment and final installment i.e. 75% of fees will be released within one week of completion of the assignment and handover of all documents.
- The consultant will produce bill for the entire fees for release of final installment.
